Stephen Molumphy set to become new Waterford senior hurling manager

Molumphy was unveiled as the new Déise boss for a three-year term on Wednesday, and in his first interview upon taking the reins, he said next year will not be a transitional or rebuilding season, but a continuation of what is already there.

The 42-year-old has recently returned from an overseas military assistance mission in Brussels.

Following interviews conducted by a five-person selection committee over the weekend, the 42-year-old is believed to be close to taking over from Peter Queally, who stepped down in June after two seasons in charge.
