- Coarse location (city and country level) — only if you grant permission
- IP-based country detection via Cloudflare headers (no precise location)
Data we do NOT collect
- We do not read your contacts, messages, or photos
- We do not track your browsing outside of Pulse News 247
- We do not sell your personal data to third parties
3. How We Use Your Data
- Personalize your news feed based on reading history and preferences
- Send breaking news alerts and daily digests (if opted in)
- Calculate reading streaks and interest scores
- Improve feed ranking and relevance

4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- SendoraCloud — authentication, analytics events, push-notification routing
- Sentry — crash reporting and error monitoring
- Google AdMob — advertising for free users
- Cloudflare — CDN and DDoS protection
- Expo — push notification token delivery
The Pulse database itself is self-hosted on infrastructure we operate (Oracle Cloud, Hetzner). It is not a third-party service. Each external service has its own privacy policy governing its use of your data.
5. Cookies
Our website uses essential cookies for functionality. We use Cloudflare analytics (privacy-focused, no personal data stored). Third-party advertising cookies are used only with your consent for EU users via our cookie consent banner.
6. Your Rights
Under GDPR, CCPA, and applicable privacy laws, you have the right to:
- Deletion (self-serve) — open Profile → Delete account. The in-app flow erases your account row and every related record (bookmarks, reading history, push tokens, usage counters) immediately, and schedules deletion of your authentication identity at our auth provider within seven days.
- Access — request a copy of your personal data
- Rectification — correct inaccurate data
- Restrict processing — limit how we use your data
- Object — opt out of personalization entirely
- Withdraw consent — revoke any previously given consent

7. Data Retention
- Articles are retained for 30 days, then deleted
- User event data (reading history) is aggregated and raw events deleted after 30 days
- Account data is retained until you delete your account
- Bookmarked articles are retained as long as you have an active account
8. Children's Privacy
Pulse News 247 is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. California Residents (CCPA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, request its deletion, and opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information. To make a request, email [email protected].
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via in-app notification or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
