Spokane fire: Old Trail Fire triggers level 3 evacuations near Airway Heights

Despite the scale of the damage, there have been no reported fatalities in the fires that started over the weekend. Weather conditions have improved, allowing some evacuees to return.

Fast-spreading wildfires have decimated hundreds of homes and forced tens of thousands to evacuate in the Spokane, Washington, area. Spokane Mayor Lisa Brown called the situation the "worst natural disaster our region has faced."
