Larry Montes, 46, of the Bronx, disrupted Shabbat services at Central Synagogue in Midtown Manhattan on Friday evening, assaulting a 63-year-old woman and a 65-year-old security guard.

The police said a man on Friday night struck a congregant at the prominent Upper East Side synagogue, as Jews in the city contend with threats, fears and internal divides.
