Shark sightings force Noosa Triathlon to scrap swim leg

The Noosa Triathlon has cancelled its swimming leg for the first time in 43 years after a shark sighting forced organisers to act moments before the race.

Surf lifesavers refused to put lifeguards in the water due to safety reasons, forcing organisers to modify the world's largest Olympic distance triathlon an hour before it began.
