Senate passes Russia sanctions bill that was long championed by Lindsey Graham

The bipartisan legislation, championed by the late Sen. Lindsey Graham, would penalize countries that continue to buy Russian oil, gas and other exports that fund the Ukraine war.

The bill is meant to stifle Russia's economy by allowing for tough new tariffs against major importers of Russian energy. The legislation was led by Lindsey Graham before his unexpected death in July.
