SC asks Centre to ensure pedestrians have safe footpaths

A Bench headed by Justice P.S. Narasimha said the right to a clean and broad footpath was a fundamental right the state could afford to everyone without any big investment

The bench gave him two weeks to instruct the authorities while emphasising that pedestrians should have confidence that the space is meant for them and they can walk freely without any threat of moving vehicles
