No major breakthrough in Canada-U.S. trade talks: source

Canada’s chief trade negotiator told a government advisory group that there’s still a significant amount of work to do to reach an agreement that would stave off a new wave of US tariffs next week.

The source said the Americans appear to be open to extending the deadline considering progress in talks, but it's unclear if it's something Canada would agree to. iPolitics reported over the weekend that Canadian negotiators weren't pursuing a deadline extension.
