Nigeria confirms an Ebola case in Abuja as a woman arriving from Uganda tests positive

Nigeria has reported its first known case of Ebola during Africa's latest outbreak originating in the DRC. Health Minister Muhammad Ali Pate said the patient was a woman who had recently flown to Abuja from Uganda.

Nigeria's government said on Tuesday there was a case of Ebola ‌in the capital, Abuja, after laboratory tests confirmed the viral infection.

Nigeria is the latest country to report an Ebola case as the outbreak spreads across the region. Kenya confirmed its first case earlier this month and has since recorded nine infections.
