Mother of British graduate, 23, who was shot dead by her father in Texas will fly to US as she fights to reopen case after being 'deserted by the British authorities'

The mother of a 23-year-old British woman who was unlawfully killed after being shot by her father in Texas says she has felt "incredibly alone" and "deserted by the British authorities" throughout her campaign for justice.

Jane Coates said she felt 'incredibly alone' over her fight for justice following the death of Lucy Harrison, 23, who was shot dead by her father Kris Harrison on January 10, 2025, in Texas.
