IMD warns of heavy rain across north, central India; east to see more showers

The weather department has cautioned that the intense rain could increase the risk of landslides, flash floods and disruption to road connectivity in vulnerable hill districts.

A low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal is likely to boost rainfall across eastern states from 13 August, while parts of the North-East and Uttarakhand face a flash-flood risk.
