H-1B visa rules may tighten: US weighs scrapping 60-day job-loss grace period: What it means for Indians

For H-1B workers, the current grace period provides valuable time to find another employer and maintain their immigration status. Removing it could mean that workers and their families have far less time to respond to a sudden job loss.

The rule applies to E-1, E-2, E-3, H-1B, H-1B1, L-1, O-1 and TN categories of non-immigrant visa holders and their dependents.
