Crew of ship missing after drone attacks on 2 commercial vessels in Black Sea near Bulgaria

Bulgarian prime minister said suspected Russian attack was a ‘violation of international law’

An attack by "unmanned boats" on a Liberian-flagged tanker off the coast of the Russian Olympic city of Sochi sparked a giant "fire of oil", Russian authorities say.

A cargo ship sank and a second vessel caught fire in a combined aerial and maritime drone attack inside Bulgaria's exclusive economic zone in the Black Sea.

Ukraine has accused Russia of the drone attack on the two vessels near Bulgaria, raising fears of a widening conflict.

A rescue effort was underway, Prime Minister Rumen Radev said, after one of the two ships sank. It was not immediately clear where the drones originated.

Bulgaria's prime minister says the Russian war in Ukraine risks becoming a "global conflict" if it was not brought to an end, after drones struck two vessels in the Black Sea.
