Prime Minister Mark Carney says Gianni Infantino's decision to not disclose to FIFA's top advisers and officials a proposal to sell stakes in the World Cup to private investors "should be fatal" to his position at the head of the organization.

Carney said keeping the now-abandoned World Cup sell-off plan a secret from senior FIFA staff was a 'fatal' move on Infantino's part and 'not how you run any business.'

The talks come amid a wave of criticism over Infantino’s now shelved plan to open the World Cup to private investment.

It is understood the meeting in Morocco was called after the weekend.
