Myanmar military airstrike hits market, killing at least 33 people in Rakhine state

An airstrike on a bustling market in rebel territory left at least 50 people dead, in one of the deadliest attacks on civilians in months.

Nearly half a million people are displaced in Rakhine as a result of the conflict between the military and rebel groups.

An airstrike carried out by Myanmar's military near a market in territory controlled by a powerful rebel group killed at least 33 people and wounded 36 others on Monday, the group and a rescue official said.
