Bear shot, killed after girl attacked in Maple Ridge was the right one, officials say

Initially, Maple Ridge RCMP said the bear that was shot in a neighbour's yard was not the same bear, but in an update on Friday, the Conservation Service said it was.

The B.C. Conservation Officer Service is apologizing for causing confusion, saying that investigations have revealed RCMP killed the bear that attacked a three-year-old girl in Maple Ridge earlier this month.
